Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 11 June 2026
The short version. Unfyltered+ subscriptions are billed and refunded by Apple or Google — use their refund flows. Event listing fees (₹299) are non-refundable once your event is live, unless we take the event down for operational reasons. Tickets are refunded in full if an event is cancelled or the host doesn't show; there's no refund if you don't show. Razorpay refunds reach your original payment method in 5–7 business days.
This policy is published by NETSPHERE TECHNOLOGIES (Unfyltered) in line with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. All amounts are in Indian Rupees and inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
1. Unfyltered+ subscriptions (Apple & Google)
- Subscriptions are purchased through, billed by, and refunded by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) — the payment never passes through us, so we cannot issue these refunds directly.
- To request a subscription refund:
- iOS: go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, and choose the Unfyltered+ purchase. Apple decides refunds under its media-services terms.
- Android: use Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history → select the order → Request a refund, or see Google Play's refund policy.
- Cancelling auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your store settings (iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions; Android: Play Store → Subscriptions) at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep Unfyltered+ until the end of the period already paid for. Deleting the app or your Unfyltered account does not cancel a subscription.
- If Apple or Google refunds a purchase, the corresponding Unfyltered+ access is revoked.
2. Event listing fee (₹299, public events)
- Publishing a public event costs a one-time listing fee of ₹299, paid via Razorpay. Private (invite-code) events are free to create.
- The fee pays for the listing service itself — review, publication, discovery placement, RSVP and group-chat infrastructure — so it is non-refundable once the event is published, including if you later cancel your own event or it gets no RSVPs.
- Exception: if Unfyltered cancels or removes your published event for operational reasons not caused by you (for example, a platform fault), the listing fee is refunded in full. No refund is due where an event is removed because it violated our Terms or Community Guidelines.
- If your payment is captured but the event fails to publish, that's on us — contact us and we'll publish it or refund the fee in full.
3. Event tickets
- Tickets to paid events are purchased via Razorpay at the price set by the host and shown before payment.
- Full refund (100% of what you paid, including any fees) if:
- the event is cancelled — by the host or by Unfyltered — before it takes place; or
- the host fails to show up and the event does not effectively take place (verified via check-ins and attendee reports).
- No refund if you don't attend an event that took place as listed (attendee no-show), or if you cancel your RSVP to a paid event. Seats at small events are scarce — a ticket holds a real chair.
- If an event is rescheduled by the host, your ticket carries over; if the new time doesn't work for you, tell us within 48 hours of the change for a full refund.
- Material misdescription (wrong venue, fundamentally different event than listed) — report it within 48 hours of the event via You → Help & grievances; verified cases are refunded in full.
4. How refunds are paid
- Razorpay refunds (listing fees and tickets) are issued to your original payment method and typically arrive within 5–7 business days of approval, depending on your bank. UPI refunds are often faster; card refunds can take a full statement cycle in rare cases.
- We initiate eligible event-cancellation refunds automatically once an event is marked cancelled — you don't need to ask, though you're welcome to nudge us.
- Refunds are always for the amount actually paid; we don't issue partial credits or "wallet" balances.
5. Platform fee disclosure
For paid tickets, Unfyltered charges hosts a platform fee of 10% of the ticket price, shown to hosts before they publish. When attendees receive a full refund (event cancelled or host no-show), the attendee gets back 100% of what they paid — the platform fee is not deducted from attendee refunds. Host payouts for ticketed events are made after the event completes, net of the platform fee.
6. Questions or problems with a payment
- Fastest: in the app — You → Help & grievances → Payments, with the date, amount, and the Razorpay order/payment ID (it's in your payment confirmation).
- Email: hello@unfyltered.com, or escalate to our Grievance Officer at grievance@unfyltered.com.
- We acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 15 days — usually much faster. Full process and escalation paths (including the National Consumer Helpline): Grievance Redressal.
